Below is a list of WSG staff and external organizations that have agreed to work with investigators to develop outreach plans. Additional contacts will be added as they are identified. Outreach, communications and education groups who are interested in working with researchers on an outreach plan may contact WSG: wsgrfp@u.washington.edu. Outreach Organizations

COSEE – OLC (Centers for Ocean Science Education Excellence – Ocean Learning Centers) – NSF funded partnership among UW educators, ocean scientists and the Seattle Aquarium to develop and support ocean learning communities. Contact: Susan Bullerdick or Tansy Clay

Curriculum for the Bioregion – Washington Center initiative to better prepare undergraduates to live in a world of complex issues of environmental quality, environmental justice, and sustainability. Contact: Jean MacGregor

Earthcorps – Non-profit organization conducting one-year intensive programs for young adults to learn best practices in conservation techniques and develop skills in leading volunteers. Contact: Meenal Harankhedkar, 206-730-3795.

Northwest Aquatic and Marine Educators (NAME) – Non-profit organization making "known the world of water both fresh and salt”. Contact: Linda Maxson

Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission – Central coordinating body for 20 treaty tribes provides support for tribal co-management of natural resources and a forum to jointly address natural resource issues of mutual concern. Contact: Steve Robinson, (360) 528-4347

Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission Coastal Office (Forks) – Coordinating office for the four coastal treaty tribes provides support for tribal co-management of coastal natural resources including ocean fisheries. Contact: Robert Jones, (360) 374-5501.

Northwest Straits Commission – Guidance and resources to seven marine resources committees to mobilize science focusing on regional priorities for the ecosystem. Contact: Simon Geerlofs (Marine Program Coordinator), 360.428.1057

Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary – NOAA staff regularly conduct unique outreach and education events in communities throughout the region. Contact: Robert Steelquist (Education Coordinator) 360.457.6622, Ext 19

The Pacific Education Institute (PEI) – Student opportunities to learn in real-world settings throughout Washington state. Contact: Margaret Tudor, 360.705.9294

Pacific Science Center – Center inspiring a lifelong interest in science, math and technology through interactive and innovative exhibits and programs, including the Portal to the Public Initiative focus on bringing current research and technologies to public audiences. Contact: Ellen Lettvin
