Experience and Education
Kara first began working with WSG in December 2010 as a white-paper author and presenter for the West Coast Fisheries and Climate Change workshop, co-hosted by the Climate Impacts Group. She has continued to work with WSG as a student assistant.
Kara is a Washington native from Oak Harbor, Washington. She received her undergraduate degree from Western Washington University, Huxley College of the Environment, in Environmental Planning and Policy, with a minor in Geography. She has worked in different positions throughout Washington State, as a land trust stewardship coordinator, salmon restoration technician, and most recently as an Education Assistant at the Padilla Bay National Estuarine Research Preserve. Kara is in her second year of graduate study at UW's School of Marine and Environmental Affairs.
