Experience and Education
Before joining the WSG team in 1998, David worked as a freelance writer, editor and project manager for more than 15 years. He is the author of Managing Nonpoint Pollution: an Action Plan Handbook for Puget Sound Watersheds (1987), I Am Salmon: an Exploration of Salmon and Self (1999) and Heaven on the Half Shell: the Story of the Northwest’s Love Affair with the Oyster (2001). In 2005, he served as Interim Media Relations Specialist for the National Sea Grant network. David is a graduate of Northeastern Illinois University.

- Oversee WSG Science Writing Fellowship and Communications Internship programs
- Assist media and stakeholder groups in obtaining reliable and unbiased science-based information
