Experience and Education
Hoffman joined the Washington Sea Grant team in March 2008. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Environmental Studies from Oberlin College and a Master of Marine Affairs degree from the University of Washington. Katrina has a diverse background in research, outreach, education and policy. She has extensive experience as a marine science educator and has conducted policy research as well as ship-based oceanographic research. She has coordinated two shellfish conferences for Washington Sea Grant and looks forward to working on a broad array of coastal management issues.

- Revitalizing a network of coastal planners in Washington
- Designing and implementing technology to facilitate communication among coastal planners
- Addressing training and technical assistance needs of coastal planners
- Facilitating coastal community development and coastal resource management pilot projects
