Experience and Education

Michelle participates in program planning, administration and evaluation, carrying out special projects, preparing program documents and coordinating WSG’s role in collaborative projects. Previously, she served as the Washington coordinator for the West Coast Marine Research and Information Project, a collaboration of all four regional Sea Grant programs. Michelle also has been a marine field specialist at WSG, working on seabird bycatch mitigation. Before joining WSG in 2004, she developed marine mammal and seabird ecology and conservation programs, focusing much of her effort in South America. She holds a doctorate in ecology and evolutionary biology from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
