Experience and Education

Dan joined Washington Sea Grant in 2006 after more than 20 years of writing, editing and media relations experience with King County Metro and Seattle City Light. He served as spokesperson for Metro Transit and was media relations manager for City Light, where he also was responsible for producing the utility’s annual report. Dan has a bachelor’s degree in English from Grinnell College.

Current Activities

  1. Manage WSG Communications office
  2. Help WSG publicize its workshop, training and education opportunities
  3. Work with news media on stories about Washington’s marine environment
  4. Editor, Explore, quarterly publication of the UW College of Ocean and Fishery Sciences
