NAME Conference 2008 – Accommodations
Note: July is the height of the summer season in the San Juan Islands. It will be especially important to book your accommodations as early as possible before the 2008 event.
The following is a list of accommodation choices where rooms are blocked and some discounts apply.
Juniper Lane Guest House

Juniper Lane Guest House is a hip and contemporary inn with an old-fashioned, international feel. It offers a variety of classy accommodations that were built with conservation in mind, using mostly recycled and salvaged materials. The inn is run in an environmentally conscious manner with only ecologically sound cleaning products and recycled paper products used. Rates range from $129 to $423 for three nights (July 9, 10, 11). Hotel Elements and Spa

The NAME conference rate is 10 percent off the rack rate for any available room on July 8, 9, 10 or 11. No advance deadline for booking. You must specify that you are with the “Northwest Aquatic and Marine Educators” to get this rate. Hotel Elements and Spa is two blocks from the conference site and three blocks from the ferry landing. The facility participates in the CarbonFund to help make carbon-free travel possible. San Juan County Park

NAME has reserved the group campsite at San Juan County Park. This park is on the west side of San Juan Island where J, K and L pods frequently travel. The group site can hold up to 15 people and accommodate four vehicles. For more information or to reserve a spot, please contact Cindy Hansen at 360.378.4710 ext. 23.
Wayfarer's Rest

This is a fun hostel that offers shared dorm rooms as well as private double rooms. You must bring your own towels and quarters for the showers. NAME is booking 14 beds in the hostel for the nights of July 9, 10 and 11. Rates are $75 per bed for the three nights. Cindy Hansen will take reservations at 360 378-4710 ext. 23.
