R/ES-66

What are the ecological benefits of incorporating complex intertidal habitats into vertical seawalls along the Seattle shoreline? This nearshore environment will be enhanced with several different designs of specially constructed habitat test panels and troughs to increase its complexity.  This enhanced environment will be monitored for benefits to fish, marine invertebrates and plants. Project results will help guide the upcoming reconstruction of the Seattle seawall and similar structures in aquatic settings.
