Juan Valero is a PhD student at the University of Washington School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences. His work focuses on spatial population dynamics, recruitment trends and sustainability of the geoduck clam (Panopea abrupta) in the Pacific Northwest. He has interests and expertise on metapopulation dynamics, spatially explicit modeling of shellfish resources, population connectivity, and quantitative stock assessment of finfish and shellfish resources.
