SUMMARY:CANCELED: 27th Conference for Shellfish Growers
DESCRIPTION:  \n \n\nIt is with an abundance of caution that the director of Washington Sea Grant has decided to cancel the Conference for Shellfish Growers scheduled for March 9 and 10\, 2020\, in order not to risk anyone’s health and wellness given the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus in our state. \nAs a program housed in the University of Washington\, we are closely monitoring the University’s protocols around the outbreak at uw.edu/coronavirus\, which is being updated regularly. \nFor those that have already paid registration fees\, these will be refunded in the next few weeks as we rewind the conference planning process. I will also be canceling the invoices for those that have not yet paid. If you have made a room reservation\, you will need to cancel that directly with the hotel at 1.360.898.2200. \nOne of the keynote presentations at the Conference was on Washington State’s Support for the Shellfish Industry During Pandemic COVID19 Outbreak. We are working with the Department of Commerce to provide this as a webinar and will notify you once the date and time are set. \nThank you again for your continued support. We hope you will join us in March 2021 for the 27th Conference for Shellfish Growers at Alderbrook Resort and Spa. \n\n\nFirst convened by WSG in 1991\, the Conference for Shellfish Growers brings together shellfish producers\, researchers\, students and managers from the Pacific Northwest to discuss pressing issues and relevant research on aquaculture.  We look forward to another engaging and insightful conference this year. \n27th Conference for Shellfish Growers\nMarch 9 – 10\, 2020\nAlderbrook Resort and Spa \nRegistration is $130 before February 21\, 2020\, and $170 therafter. \n \nConference Registration Form \nFee includes admittance to all sessions\, lunch and reception. Cancellations will be accepted up to seven days prior to the conference. A refund\, minus a handling fee of $30.00 USD will be made. You may transfer your registration to another individual. Individuals who do not show for the conference will forfeit their registration fee.  \nA block of rooms has been reserved at the Alderbrook Resort & Spa.
