SUMMARY:Duwamish Alive! Kayaking and Restoration Work
DESCRIPTION:Volunteer work will be happening on land and on the water! And as a volunteer\, you will have the opportunity to do both! Terminal 107 or T-107 Park\, managed by the Port of Seattle\, is an important historical site. It was originally built as a construction site for a marine terminal that overlooks the original bends of the Duwamish River\, and serves as a place where salmon and other wildlife can rest\, feed and escape from predators. On land\, volunteers will work with Sound Stewards and DRCC/TAG to weed\, mulch\, pick up litter and keep this site healthy and vital! On the water\, join Puget Soundkeeper and Alki Kayak Tours in a kayak to help remove litter from the banks of our river. The kayaks will launch from the T-107 boat launch. *Minimum age for kayaks is 13 years old. \nLearn more at the Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition website. \nAs a volunteer at this site\, you will be part of Duwamish Alive!\, a restoration and cleanup event working to make lasting improvements at more than 12 sites in the Duwamish Watershed. Duwamish Alive! is a collaborative effort of local communities\, municipalities\, non-profits and businesses to learn about\, preserve and enhance habitat for people and wildlife\, thereby improving the health of the Puget Sound. Restoration events are held twice a year. \n  \n
