DESCRIPTION:Washington Sea Grant\, the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding and Washington State University Jefferson County are co-sponsoring a Marine Corrosion Protection Workshop. This is a hands-on class for marine professionals and boat owners (both commercial and recreational). \nTopics covered include: \n\nGalvanic corrosion of aluminum\, steel and bronze\nCrevice corrosion of stainless steel\nPoultice corrosion of aluminum\nCorrosion potential testing\nPotential monitoring systems for aluminum and bronze\nAdvantages and disadvantages of different types of anodes\nAnalysis of wood damage from too much zinc\nControlled potential systems for wood boats\nCoatings for propellers and propeller shafts\nTest methods for detecting AC and DC stray current\n\nWhen: \nOctober 15\, 2022\n9 a.m. to 4 p.m. \nWhere:\nNorthwest School Wooden Boatbuilding\nSystems Building\n65 Lower Hadlock Road\nPort Hadlock\, WA \nFee:\n$80 \nDue to limited space (class size is limited to 15)\, pre-registration is required.
