SUMMARY:Salmon Sighting
DESCRIPTION:Anyone who has seen salmon swimming their way up our watershed to spawn can tell you this is a must see feature of living in the Pacific Northwest. The incredible display of perseverance and resilience can teach us a lot during Washington’s darkest and rainiest season. We invite you to join us in exploring the inspiring story of salmon at Thompson Creek Bridge. \nNSEA naturalists will be available to answer questions. Event open to all ages\, no cost and no RSVP needed to attend. Open house style\, visit anytime between 10-12pm! \nSpecial Note to Pet Owners: Please leave your 4-legged friends at home so as not to disturb the salmon while spawning – their energy is already limited and additional stress can be lethal at this final stage in their lifecycle. \nDirections: From the Glacier Public Service Center head East on Mt. Baker HWY/SR 542. Half a mile past mile marker 34 on SR 542\, take a right onto Glacier Creek Road. At the fork\, take a right onto Thomson Creek Road/Heliotrope Ridge Road. Continue down this road for 1 mile until you get to Thompson Creek bridge. Look for the blue NSEA tent near bridge. \nThis is a Whatcom Water Week event. \n
