SUMMARY:Sea Safety Course for Drill Instructor Certification
DESCRIPTION:Washington Sea Grant\, the Port of Bellingham\, and Whatcom County Extension are sponsoring a Sea Safety and Survival Drill Instructor Course for commercial fishermen and charter boat operators. \nThis Coast Guard-approved workshop meets the training requirements of the Commercial Fishing Safety Act and earns participants a drill instructor certification upon completion. Course work includes lectures\, hands-on activities\, and instruction in the use of safety and survival equipment required for commercial fishing vessels. Participants will learn about emergency procedures and be trained to develop appropriate emergency drills for their own vessels. \nCost: $100 (free for commercial fishermen).
