DESCRIPTION:A one-day\, all-inclusive Marine Weather Workshop taught by marine weather experts Jay Albrecht and Dave Wilkinson will prepare boaters for safety on Northwest waters\, whichever way the wind may blow. \nThe workshop is co-sponsored by Washington Sea Grant\, Northwest Maritime Center\, and WSU Jefferson County Extension. \nTopics covered include: \n\nrelationships of atmospheric pressure and wind\ndetermining the path and speed of squalls\nstrong wind systems found in the Northwest and offshore and how to avoid them\nhow 500mb wind patterns can help you find “weather windows” for safe passage\n\nCost: $50. DESCRIPTION:Your are invited to the popular annual event\, OysterFest\, where oysters\, wines\, microbrews\, live music and so much more come together for two days every year on the first weekend in October. \nThe festival also features a popular cook-off\, hands-on water quality exhibits\, and is itself a giant a food pavilion with nearly 100 unique items on the menu.
