SUMMARY:National Working Waterfronts & Waterways Symposium
DESCRIPTION:The National Working Waterfronts & Waterways Symposium is the crown jewel of the National Working Waterfront Network. People from across the United States attend the symposium to connect with one another and showcase (and initiate) innovative solutions to their waterfront issues. The ultimate goal of the symposium\, and the Network\, is to increase the capacity of saltwater- and freshwater-based coastal communities and for stakeholders to make informed decisions\, balance diverse uses\, ensure access\, and plan for the future of their working waterfronts. Working waterfronts include waterfront lands\, waterfront infrastructure\, and waterways that are used for water-dependent activities\, such as ports\, marinas\, small recreational boat harbors\, fishing docks and hundreds of other places across the country where people use and access the water. \nPlease see the website for more information\, including the program and registration. \n

SUMMARY:Know the Carbon Pollution Toolkit
DESCRIPTION:Dozens of policies to cut carbon pollution are in force over the world\, and it’s now possible to see clearly how well they work. Some policies deliver deep\, rapid\, and sustained reductions while also boosting economic growth. Some don’t. They are not equal. \nVoters in Washington state will have a chance to enact strong carbon emissions policy in 2016\, but only if they choose wisely from the toolkit. Two competing initiatives are proposed. The differences matter. The future of fisheries\, farm crops\, water supplies\, forests and communities depends on choosing tools that work. \nThe webinar will feature a performance analysis on carbon policies around the world\, prepared by Global Ocean Health\, and a detailed report on one of the most effective systems\, the nine-state RGGI system for power plant emissions on the US east Coast\, from the Acadia Center. \nRegister for Know the Carbon Pollution Toolkit at:\nhttps://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/8678740317478299137 \n
