SUMMARY:National Shellfisheries Association Annual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The National Shellfisheries Association Annual Meeting provides a valuable opportunity to present and learn about the latest research on shellfish and shellfisheries. The Annual Meeting is generally held in late March unless held as the triennial meeting convened concurrently with the World Aquaculture Society and American Fisheries Society\, Fish Culture Section.  Abstracts from past annual meetings can be found here. \nFounded in 1908\, The National Shellfisheries Association is an international organization of scientists\, management officials and members of industry\, all concerned with the biology\, ecology\, production\, economics and management of shellfish resources – clams\, oysters\, mussels\, scallops\, snails\, shrimp\, lobsters\, crabs\, among many other species of importance. \n

SUMMARY:Crab Team Returning Volunteer Training (Padilla Bay)
DESCRIPTION:This event is free\, but registration is required.  \nA refresher and continuing education opportunity for returning Crab Team volunteers. The workshop will include: \n\nProtocol updates\nTips on efficient sampling\nIn-depth time on species ID\n\nMore information: This workshop is intended only for volunteers who have monitored with Crab Team in prior years. Potential new volunteers should attend a full-day training workshop\, either in Padilla Bay\, or Poulsbo. This curriculum will go into greater depth on efficient sampling\, and critter ID\, and is a great way to kick off another successful sampling season! \nWe will have light snacks available\, and will take short breaks\, but no long lunch break. Depending on weather\, part of the training workshop might be conducted outside. Please come ready to spend up to an hour outside\, including warm clothing and sturdy shoes. \nContact the Crab Team at crabteam@uw.edu if you have any questions.
