SUMMARY:Dammed to Extinction Screening
DESCRIPTION:Chinook salmon and Southern Resident orca extinction speeds up as the pace of political change in the Pacific Northwest plods along. The status quo upholds the four obsolete dams and their negligible hydropower as required for economic stability. In reality\, the lower Snake River dams choke off endangered salmon access to thousands of miles of pristine spawning habitat that could restore economic stability to many community and commercial endeavors. However\, as the salmon numbers plummet\, the orcas starve\, and the fisheries fail. Breaching these dams will save taxpayer dollars and reverse the fate of salmon and orca. This new inspiring films lays it all out for an easy to see solution. \nKen Balcomb\, Chris Pinney\, Howard Garrett\, and Jim Waddell will be available to answer questions after the screening. \n
