SUMMARY:Online STEM Workshop
DESCRIPTION:\nSeastar wasting syndrome has impacted seastar populations along the west coast of North America. Join Harbor WildWatch’s Science Specialist Stena for an interactive\, Facebook LIVE lesson to learn more about seastar wasting syndrome and join us for a virtual seastar survey. Gather up the supplies below beforehand\, and tune in at 2pm on Harbor WildWatch’s main Facebook page. Interaction highly encouraged!\n\nSupplies:\n \n\nPaper\nPencils\nRuler\n\nDuring this event\, you can collect some data with Harbor WildWatch. You can use the supplies above to either draw the different seastars species or make a chart to tally the total number of different species we observe\, their size\, and level of disease. Bonus opportunity- use the information we collect to practice making a graph and feel free to share it with us when you’re all done. Our data is submitted to UC Santa Cruz – if you’d like to learn more this is a great resource: https://marine.ucsc.edu/data-products/sea-star-wasting/\n\n\n
