DESCRIPTION:Whatcom Water Week is a week-long event that celebrates our local water resources.  Businesses\, non-profit organizations and community groups celebrate the importance of water\, share information about the state of the resource\, offer stewardship opportunities\, and expand awareness and appreciation of our marine and fresh water resources and the role water plays in our lives. This year’s events include: Baker to Bay Symposium\, Streams of Thought Film Festival\, Run with the Chums 5k fun run/walk\, salmon sighting and international coastla cleanup. SUMMARY:Baker to Bay Symposium
DESCRIPTION:The Whatcom Watersheds Information Network in association with multiple sponsors is hosting the 2017 Baker to Bay Symposium at the Ferndale Event Center. This two-day event will bring together stakeholders\, managers\, governments\, businesses\, community members\, and scientists to share information about ecosystem recovery actions in Whatcom County in a manner that combines and coordinates data/research with community interests and needs. \nDay 1 will focus on “Community Perspectives\, Challenges\, and Solutions.” The event is designed for a general audience and will feature talks on “Who We Are”\, “What is Our Effect on the Ecosystem”\, and “What are We Doing to Reconcile Human and Ecosystem Needs”. Posters and exhibitors will supplement the presentations followed by a special evening networking event showcasing short local films and appetizers. \nRegister for the entire event or either day.
