DESCRIPTION:Learn how local seafood is caught and how to buy it fresh! \nJoin Oregon Sea Grant experts and FishHer Columbia Pacific CommUNITY Alliance on a guided walk along Ilwaco’s commercial docks. \n\nLearn about Ilwaco’s vibrant commercial fishing industry and the delicious\, nutritious\, and sustainable seafood they bring back to the dock.\nCheck out different vessels and fishing gear to learn how seafood is harvested in Ilwaco. We might even meet a fisherman or two along the way!\n\nWhat to expect: \n\nThe tour will last between 60-90 minutes. Participants should expect to be walking or standing the entire tour. Total walking distance will be up to 3/4 – 1 mile.\nTours will start at10:30 am.\nEach participant will receive a complimentary gift tote bag with informational resources and local seafood products.\n\nWhat to bring: \n\nDress for the weather.\nComfortable\, closed-toes shoes recommended.\n\nParking: \n\nParking is available at the port.\n\nQuestions and Accommodations: \n\nIf you have any questions or need disability accommodations\, please email dock.tours@oregonstate.edu at least one week in advance of your tour.\n\nLearn more and register here. \n

DESCRIPTION:Fishermen’s Fall Festival is a free event organized by a group of people and organizations to raise money for Seattle Fishermen’s Memorial; a non-profit organization dedicated to providing essential services to fishermen and their families while also honoring those lives lost at sea. An all-volunteer committee organizes this event that also educates the public about Fishermen’s Terminal and the North Pacific Fishing Fleet\, and celebrates the commercial seafood industry at the heart of Seattle’s history.
