Dive into the PNW — explore the wonders of the rich and colorful sea life exposed during low tide on one of Seattle’s beaches with WSG’s marine ecologist, Jeff Adams.

- Join WSG’s Meg Chadsey to experience Gardens of the Anthropocene, an ‘augmented reality’ installation at the Olympic Sculpture Park on Seattle’s waterfront. Inspired by the geological imprint of human activity, artist Tamiko Thiel has imagined a near-future landscape populated by native plants mutating in response to the earth’s changing conditions. You will need a smartphone or tablet to experience this environment as you move around the park; install the free Layar app, which works on both Android and iOS platforms, before your visit (more info and tips for viewing here). Transportation will be provided.
- Join WSG’s Ed Melvin to walk the docks at Fishermen’s Terminal, the home of the North Pacific fishing fleet. He’ll talk about the fleets that fish Washington waters and Washington’s distant water fleet that fishes the Northwest Pacific. Learn about fishing vessels and fishing gear as well as Sea Grant programs designed to help the fishing industry adapt. Transportation will be provided.
