K-12 Activities

By partnering with educators and marine-related organizations, WSG brings valuable opportunities and resources to the K-12 community – expanding awareness of and engagement in the marine and coastal environment, improving ocean literacy, and fostering interest in marine-related careers. Programs supported by WSG cover a broad scope of subject matter:

Orca Bowl

A one-day, knowledge bowl competition for high school students that recognizes their knowledge of the world’s oceans.

NOAA Science Camp

A highly immersive summer camp opportunity for middle and high school students.

Washington on Water (WoW)

A web-based clearinghouse for K-12 EDUCATORS seeking education resources focusing in Washington state marine waters.

Kids’ Day at Oysterfest

An all-day event where 4th grade students learn how to protect and care for the environment and themselves.
