MORE INFO:
Protect Our Waters, in partnership with Seattle Public Utilities, is the City of Seattle’s commitment to take actions and promote partnerships that protect and improve our creeks, lakes, Duwamish River and Puget Sound. The Salmon Stewards program forges partnership with and trains citizen scientists to thoughtfully educate the approximately 3,000 individuals who visit Piper’s Creek in Carkeek Park each autumn to view the return of spawning chum salmon. By attending this training, you’ll become a volunteer docent educated in best available science. This program allows you to communicate effectively on how the adoption of certain individual actions can positively affect the health of the many waterbodies surrounding Seattle and thus promote the ongoing health of local salmon.
