CANCELLED: Discovery Park Birding Field Trip

March 28, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 10:30 pm

In early spring our resident birds will begin to sing. Guided by Seattle Audubon, take a leisurely walk through forest, field and wetland habitats listening for resident birds and early migrants, and identifying them by their songs and calls. The focus of our morning will be on sharpening and expanding our birding-by-ear skills – although we will also be viewing birds, so bring your binoculars. This field trip is part of a series focused on birding by ear skills, led by graduates of Seattle Audubon’s master birder classes. Dress for weather; bring binoculars, water & snacks. The Visitor Center (East) Parking lot is a 4 minute walk from the 33 Magnolia E bus stop at 36th Ave and W Government Way.

Leader: Peter Gurney
Trip Accessibility: 1 (leisurely, many stops to observe), B (gravel trails and pavement), 3-4 miles mostly level walking, no vehicle travel.
