Joining Washington Sea Grant in May 2024, Allison dove headfirst into her HR and Equity Manager role. Leveraging her expertise in interpersonal relations and administrative skills, she immediately focused on enhancing the employee experience and refining performance management systems. Her progressive approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) shines through her past roles, including chairing the DEI Committee for the Professional Staff Organization at the University of Washington and volunteering with organizations like the Therapy Fund Foundation and Sisterhood Initiative.
During her seven-year tenure at the University of Washington, Allison’s journey was a whirlwind adventure of challenges and triumphs, guided by her unwavering commitment to making a difference. Her dedication to DEI extends beyond her professional endeavors. She actively contributes to inclusive environments within academia and the broader community through her involvement in committees and professional organizations such as the UW Diversity Council and the Equity Action Plan Taskforce.
Allison holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Saint Joseph’s University, complemented by an Associate of Science in Biology and a Certificate in Criminal Justice Administration. She recently completed a Certificate in Human Resources Administration at the University of Washington and is pursuing further education in Research Administration. Allison’s ongoing dedication lies in expanding her knowledge and expertise to support underrepresented communities in STEM fields.
