Association for Women in Science (Seattle) Scholarships
Provides financial assistance to upper-level undergraduate women at a college or university in Washington state.
Community College Research Internship for Scientific Engagement
Eight-week, paid summer research internship for community college students. Interns work in a STEM research lab at the University of California Santa Cruz or Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship Program
Provides undergraduates majoring in the sciences, mathematics, engineering or education with two years of academic assistance and housing and travel costs for 10-week summer internships at NOAA or partner facilities.
Marine Technology Education Center At-Sea Internship
Places community college and university students, as well as recent graduates, in at-sea marine technician internships lasting from 2 weeks to 6 months. A $500/week stipend is provided.
National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU)
Supports ongoing or new undergraduate research projects in areas funded by the National Science Foundation at REU sites throughout the country.
Udall Undergraduate Scholarship
Awards sophomores and juniors with career goals related to tribal policy, native health care, and conservation and environmental issues up to $7,000 for academic expenses.
Virginia Institute of Marine Science Summer Intern Program
Places and supports undergraduates studying marine sciences or resource management in a 10-week program with faculty mentors at the Virginia Institute of Marine Sciences.
Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Summer Student Fellowship Program
Fellows work with a WHOI advisor on an independent research project related to oceanography, oceanographic engineering, or marine policy. These ten- to twelve-week fellowships provide a weekly stipend.

AAAS Mass Media Science and Engineering Fellows Program
Ten-week summer fellowships from the American Association for the Advancement of Science for undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate science, engineering, and mathematics students to work as science journalists at media organizations nationwide.
Garden Club of America Award in Coastal Wetlands Studies
Awards a one-year $5,000 scholarship to support graduate-level field-based research in coastal wetlands.
Great Lakes Summer Student Fellowship Program
Provides undergraduate students and recent graduates with 12-week opportunities to conduct research with scientists or other mentors in the Great Lakes region.
Marine Technology Society Student Scholarships and Emerge Program
Provides tuition support for undergraduate and graduate students studying marine-related fields.
Masters of Environmental Studies at The Evergreen Sate College (MES)
The Evergreen State College has several opportunities for graduate students in the MES program. Some MES internships and fellowships provide support, others do not. MES students are strongly encouraged to complete an internship after their first year in core classes in conjunction with their thesis.
Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute Summer Internship Program
Ten-week internship for educators and undergraduate and graduate students that focuses on developing research techniques and improving communication and collaborative skills.
MPOWER Women in STEM Scholarship
Awards one $5,000, one $3,000, and one $2,000 scholarship to female international/DACA students currently enrolled or accepted to an MPOWER member STEM degree program in the U.S. or Canada.
Nautilus Live Science and Engineering Internship Program
Provides undergraduate and graduate students interested in oceanography and ocean exploration the opportunity to work aboard the E/V Nautilus for 2-5 weeks.

Two-year program open to people with a Bachelor’s or graduate degree; fellows work with state or territorial management agencies to gain experience in coastal and coral reef resources management and help build coral reef management capacity.
Smithsonian Environmental Research Center Internship Program

Bullitt Prize
Washington Conservation Action now awards the $100,000 prize to an individual or collaborative group, from Washington State or the Pacific Northwest region if their work impacts Washington, are 35 years or younger and have demonstrated academic, professional, or grassroots leadership that advances the environmental movement.
California Sea Grant Delta Science Fellowships
Brings together graduate students and postdoctoral researchers with Bay-Delta agency scientists and senior research mentors to work collaboratively on data analysis and research projects related to the California Bay-Delta system.

Christine Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program

Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program
Offers support for graduate-level independent research in oceanography, marine biology, and maritime archaeology; women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
