Lecture: Trace Your Salmon Back to Bristol Bay

March 31, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join Alaskan photographer Carl Johnson on a visual tour through a region that hosts the world’s greatest sockeye salmon runs. Learn about a way of life that thrives on the 30 to 60 million sockeye that return to Alaska’s Bristol Bay each year.

Carl will share images and stories from the five years he spent documenting this remarkable region — home to the nation’s largest state park, world-famous wildlife, Alaska’s largest lake and a host of intriguing people.

Carl will also be available to autograph his book, “Where Water is Gold: Life and Livelihood in Alaska’s Bristol Bay,” published by Seattle’s own Braided River.

Drinks and salmon will be served. RSVP at filson.com/events.
