Crab Team New Monitor Training: Friday Harbor (San Juan County)
March 29

Crab Team network participants monitor for invasive European green crab and expand our knowledge of salt marshes and pocket estuaries.
Interested in joining Crab Team for the 2026 monitoring season?
Read our new monitor FAQ and fill out the 2026 New Monitor Interest Form to be considered for an opening at a site near you.
If your info is a match, you will receive an invitation to join the required 3-part training series: 2 virtual (Zoom) lunchhour sessions, plus one in-person of your choice (including this location/date and 5 others across the region).
Training details and locations are shared with new monitors who have been successfully matched to a site need for the 2026 season.
What to expect:
New monitor training is 4 hours long, covering hands on demonstrations and presentations on each protocol used during monthly monitoring, as well as critter identification practice. There will be an additional continuing education-style refresher training offered for San Juan County on 3/30.
