Digging for Dinner at Dosewallips
June 9, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 11:30 am
Join the Jefferson County Marine Resources Committee (MRC) and WA Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) on Friday, June 9 at Dosewallips State Park in Brinnon for a day on the beach to learn about harvesting oysters and several species of clams. Bring the family!
WDFW staff will share information about harvesting and shucking oysters, different types of clams, where to find these delicious foods, how to harvest safely and sustainably, how to prepare & cook your harvest, and basic rules and regulations that assure delicious shellfish this summer and into the future. Then we’ll go out on the beach and you can dig for your dinner with guidance from the experts.
This public event is free. A $10 donation per family will help support future marine education programs. Register here!
