Lecture: Foraging for Spring Forest Greens and Fungi (Bremerton)

March 28, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

$10

Ever wondered while hiking if you could eat that tasty looking berry or blanch those pretty greens? Then don’t miss out on this foraging lecture with Langdon Cook, a celebrated writer, speaker, and all-around foraging guru.

Cook’s books include “The Mushroom Hunters: On the Trail of an Underground America,” winner of the 2014 Pacific Northwest Book Award, and “Fat of the Land: Adventures of a 21st Century Forager.”

A Seattle resident, Cook is an expert on foraging local meals from Pacific Northwest forests, and he will teach you all about the wild edibles of spring—from fiddleheads to oyster mushrooms, miner’s lettuce to stinging nettles—including their lifecycle, habitat, identification, harvest and uses.
