Molt Search Volunteer Training (Kitsap County)

June 13 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Molt Search Logo

Washington Sea Grant and Washington State University Extension have teamed up to launch a new volunteer-based early detection program to complement the existing Crab Team monitoring network. This event includes a workshop where you will learn how to identify crab molts, where and how to conduct a 20-minute Molt Search survey, how report your findings using the MyCoast mobile app, and optionally how to collect additional data on Dungeness crab molts.

Sign me up! If you are interested in getting involved with Molt Search, register in advance to save your spot at the Kitsap County training or check our calendar for more upcoming training opportunities.

Event logistics: We will be starting the day at Seabeck Community Center and finishing up the day at GPC’s Misery Point Preserve. Misery Point Preserve is about a five-minute drive away and we will be carpooling from the community center. At Misery Point Preserve, we will be walking about ¼ mile up and down a hill and along a rocky shoreline.
