Molt Search Volunteer Training (Pierce County)

May 30 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Molt Search Logo

Washington Sea Grant and Washington State University Extension have teamed up to launch a new volunteer-based early detection program to complement the existing Crab Team monitoring network. This event includes an hour long workshop where you will learn how to identify crab molts, where and how to conduct a timed Molt Search survey, how report your findings using the MyCoast mobile app, and optionally how to collect additional data on Dungeness crab molts.

Sign me up! This training is hosted by our partners at Harbor WildWatch. See more information on their event website (here) or contact their Science Specialist Stena Troyer (Stena@harborwildwatch.org).

Harbor WildWatch will also be including Molt Search trainings as part of each of their Beach Monitoring Events this summer. These 3-4hr monitoring events will be held:
