About the symposium:
The goals of the NWFSC Science Symposium are to foster communication and collaboration among scientists at our Montlake Laboratory and all NWFSC research stations, as well as to showcase new and exciting areas of our fisheries science in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
The 2-day symposium will consist of oral presentations and posters contributed by NWFSC scientists. Presentations will highlight completed research or preliminary results that illustrate how our science is contributing to sustaining fisheries for the future.
Presentations will also relate to the four key themes that encompass our work at the NWFSC:
- Ecosystem approach to improve management of marine resources
- Habitats to support sustainable fisheries and recovered populations.
- Recovery and rebuilding of marine and coastal species.
- Sustainable, safe, and secure seafood for healthy populations and vibrant communities.
