Seaweed Farming Introductory Workshop

FreeHosted by Washington Sea Grant, in partnership with the Puget Sound Restoration Fund, Hood Canal Mariculture and the NOAA WDVA Veterans Conservation Corps Internship Program, this online workshop will provide participants with an overview of seaweed farming in Washington State.
Topics to be covered include:
- Suitable species for cultivation in Washington waters
- Factors to consider
- Operating a seaweed farm in Washington State
- A survey of potential markets

This webinar-based workshop is being broadcast live from Pacific Lutheran University. Limited space is available for veterans and active-duty military personnel to attend in person, where they will learn about additional seaweed farming programming and benefits offered through the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs. If you qualify, and would like to attend in person, please fill out THIS FORM.
Topics introduced at this workshop will be covered in depth at a multi-day Seattle-based training in early 2020 (dates and location TBA). Only individuals who complete this November workshop (or review the archived recording) will be eligible to apply for the multi-day training.
