Opening Day Boat Parade
Opening Day marks the start of the Seattle boating season. The Seattle Yacht Club sponsors a boat parade through the Montlake Cut. This year's theme is 'A Great Escape'. The parade can be viewed from the shoreline at Portage Bay and Montlake Cut or from vessels moored in the designated anchorage areas. For more information visit the Seattle Yacht Club website. The event will be preceded by the University of Washington's 30th Annual Windermere Cup Crew Regatta.

First Aid at Sea Workshop – June 3
A safe and fun start to the boating season! Washington Sea Grant and the Port of Seattle Fishermen’s Terminal are co-sponsoring a Coast Guard-approved first aid at sea course. It will be held on Friday, June 3, in the Nordby Conference Room, Nordby Bldg., Fishermen's Terminal in Seattle. Topics covered include CPR, patient assessment, hypothermia, cold water, near-drowning, shock, trauma, burns, fractures, choking, immobilization and key contents for a complete first aid kits. Cost: $100 ($50 for commercial fishermen)

Free Workshop: Learn how to get grants for your boating facility
Need funding to build or improve recreational boating facilities or for programs to promote boating? Want to market your facility as a certified Clean Marina? Learn how to access several state and federal grants that cover up to 75 percent of infrastructure and maintenance costs. The workshop will also discuss opportunities to leverage different grants to maximize funding. The cost is free.
