Leque, Fir, and Camano Island Bird Walk
Seattle Audubon Society invites you to join in a birding expedition with winter waterfowl and raptors in mind. Leque Island has reopened after restoration to return the area to a salt marsh after 100 years of farm diking. We will see how the habitat has changed and how the wildlife have responded. Whidbey Island Birding Field Trip
Join Seattle Audubon for a birding excursion on Whidbey Island! Whidbey Island is an excellent birding spot any time of the year. We will work our way up island looking for waterbirds (ducks, grebes, loons, alcids), raptors, and passerines. Come prepared for almost any weather, waterproof footwear, a scope will be helpful. Join Seattle Audubon for a birding excursion to the Skagit and Samish flats, which offer some of the best winter raptor and waterfowl viewing in the state. Expect to see Red-tailed and Rough-legged Hawks, Northern Harriers, Trumpeter Swans, Snow Geese, Bald Eagles. We’ll look for Short-eared Owls, Tundra Swans, wintering shorebirds, and with luck we’ll find a falcon or two.
