Washington Sea Grant provides a range of critical support to the State of Washington that includes marine research, outreach, communication and education services. The program actively addresses relevant economic and environmental challenges facing our ocean and coasts. With over 30 communicators, educators and field agents located in eight coastal counties, the program’s expertise ranges from oceanography and fisheries to economics and urban planning.

Student Assistant – Marina Pumpout Inspector

Washington Sea Grant (WSG) has an outstanding opportunity for a self-motivated, enthusiastic Student Assistant to support WSG staff and our Boating Program to examine pumpout units at marinas around Washington. The student assistant will help ensure our state’s numerous pumpout units are in good working order to serve the boaters of Washington and keep our waters clean. We are seeking an individual who would be willing to be trained and comfortable traveling around the state to marinas to inventory and inspect pumpouts. The student would be reimbursed for mileage, hotel, and per diem food at the standard state rate for all travel related to this work.
