CANCELED: Rivers and Oceans Film Festival (to be rescheduled for summer)
March 28, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Be it in the form of rain, flowing in the streams and rivers, or part of the ocean, there are few things that define life on the Olympic Peninsula more than water. Those who cherish, enjoy or want to learn about the Olympic Peninsula and its rivers and oceans are invited to the 7th Annual River & Ocean Film Festival at the Rainforest Arts Center.
“The River & Ocean Film Festival has become an integral part of Forks’ Annual RainFest celebration,” says Jill Silver, a member of the North Pacific Coast Marine Resources Committee, which organized the festival. “It’s been wonderful to see so many people over the years enjoying beautiful and inspiring films about a wide range of coastal and freshwater environments, and the experiences of the human communities living and working in them.”
The festival features short films that highlight the beauty and opportunities found on the “wet side” of the Olympic Peninsula. Admission is free and open to all ages; all films are family-friendly. Judges are now screening submissions to select the films that will screen at this year’s festival. See past year’s selected films here.
The Festival screenings will run from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on March 28, 2019 at the Rainforest and Arts Center at 25 North Forks Avenue, Forks, WA.
The event is sponsored by the North Pacific Coast Marine Resources Committee, the City of Forks, Washington Sea Grant, and the North Pacific Coast Lead Entity.
