Spooky Squid Dissection
The summer brings interesting things to our shores, including a freshly deceased Humboldt squid! Never one to miss an opportunity, we have preserved the squid in our freezer and will be conducting a public dissection on Sunday October 29th at 3pm. Join us to learn more about this unique creature, whose range has expanded to include our local waters. We last had a ‘jumbo’ squid at Feiro in 2014.

Capturing an emerging invasion: Arrival of European green crab
After three decades on the coast, the globally-damaging invasive European green crab was first spotted on Washington’s inland shorelines in 2016. Molt Search Volunteer Training (Clallam County)
Washington Sea Grant and Washington State University Extension have teamed up to launch a new volunteer-based early detection program to complement the existing Crab Team monitoring network.
