Literature of the Sea Seminar
Mystic Seaport Museum is proud to present a new program, the “Literature of the Sea Seminar,” designed for readers, writers, and thinkers of any age, from late high school to seniors. Over Zoom, a small group will meet for one hour per week for three weeks to discuss the book Whale Rider by Witi Ihimaera. The International Coastal Cleanup began more than 30 years ago, when communities rallied together with the common goal of collecting and documenting the trash littering their coastline. Volunteers from states and territories throughout the U.S. and more than 100 countries come together each year and participate in a Cleanup event near them. Join WSU Extension in a beach clean-up at Howarth Park! Meet in the parking lot. Bring heavy garden or work gloves, an old 5-gallon bucket and pickers if you have them. If not, we can provide them for you. Remember to dress for the weather and the soggy shoreline. Most trash is above the wrack line, so you shouldn’t be in the water. However, beaches do have fresh water streams that may need to be crossed.
