The Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding has developed non-credit continuing education courses in marine systems for individuals already in the industry. The courses will rely on industry-relevant mock-ups to provide hands-on practical training taught by experienced professionals. Volunteer to collect some shoreline profile data at the Powel property on Bainbridge Island. In 2012, the Powel family, who owns a small peninsula on the north end of Bainbridge Island, removed 1/3 of a mile of bulkheads. Before and since, Washington Sea Grant has been collecting physical profile data and sometimes biological data from 8 different profiles around the property to document erosion and habitat changes.
