WSG Director update: Our federal funding status
On Friday, April 11, news outlets began reporting on the Trump Administration’s proposal to make deep cuts to NOAA funding, including completely eliminating NOAA’s Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR). Uncertainties around the continuation of federal funding have now grown significantly, causing concern for the future of our program.

Washington Fishermen’s Convention in Westport | December 4 – December 8
The Washington Fishermen’s Convention is a multi-day learning and networking opportunity for new and experienced fishermen. Featuring hands-on training, networking opportunities and educational sessions, and a daylong on-water practicum for new deckhands to practice their skills, the Washington Fishermen’s Convention has something for everyone in the commercial fishing industry.

Washington Sea Grant Coastal Resilience Fellowship
A unique educational opportunity for early or shifting career professionals to provide additional capacity for coastal communities around coastal resilience. Highly motivated, qualified individuals are teamed with mentors in a host office for two years, working on coastal resilience-related projects.
