Class: First Aid at Sea
Learn the skills to save a life at sea. Washington Sea Grant, WSU Jefferson County Extension and the Northwest Maritime Center are co-sponsoring a Coast Guard-approved First Aid at Sea course. Topics covered include CPR, patient assessment, hypothermia, cold water, near drowning, shock, trauma, burns, fractures, choking, immobilization and essentials for first aid kits.

Learn how to read the weather before you go. The Northwest Maritime Center in Port Townsend, WA will offer a three week long adult maritime weather class covering the practical applications of atmospheric and oceanographic science for sailing. Course material will focus on global maritime weather patterns and the role of forecasting and prediction for safe trip planning. Registration fees include the coast of textbook and workbook. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Taught in (6) 2 hour classes. Ages 18 and up.
