New staff: WSG welcomes Azalea Hermann

Washington Sea Grant (WSG) is pleased to welcome Azalea Hermann as the new fellowships and workforce development specialist. In this role, Azalea collaborates with the WSG fellowships team on fellow recruitment, engagement, professional development and more.

Azalea is a born and raised Texan and has called the PNW her home for the last 5 years. Her professional background spans various roles in Operations, Project Management, and Marketing across the tech, retail and energy sectors. She recently served as a Grants and Programs Specialist at EarthLab, where she supported the grant proposal and administrative process for multiple member organizations. Since moving to Seattle, Azalea has dedicated her time participating in virtual climate education cohorts and volunteering with local organizations that are dedicated to advancing environmental justice and awareness in the region. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching documentaries, checking out new restaurants and exploring the PNW with her husband and two pups.
