Welcome To Our New Fisheries Specialist

August 19, 2020

Washington Sea Grant (WSG) is excited to welcome Brandii Holmdahl as our new fisheries specialist.

In her new position, Brandii will focus on developing and coordinating strategies that advance the safety, economic success and environmental sustainability of Washington’s fisheries and seafood sectors. She will work on projects across the state, but with an emphasis on meeting the needs of fisheries-dependent communities on Washington’s southwest coast and the Lower Columbia River. “We’ve heard loud and clear that getting additional support on the coast is critical,” says Russell Callender, WSG director. “This fisheries position is an important part of how we are addressing those needs.”

Brandii’s background is in seafood quality assurance, most recently working in Astoria, Oregon at SCG Global Services, an international third-party certification and services validation firm. Prior to this she worked at Borstein Seafoods and Stavis Seafoods. Her seafood experience spans the states of Alaska, Massachusetts, Oregon and Washington, with hands-on processor plant experience as quality assurance manager, foreman and plant manager. Her passion is teaching people how to be better stewards of the world’s waterways and the creatures sourced from it.

We are so excited to have you aboard, Brandii!
