May 26, 2021

We are proud to announce that Abby Rogerson, a student assistant at Washington Sea Grant, has been chosen as a Husky 100 at the University of Washington! The Husky 100 recognizes undergraduate and graduate students who apply what they learn in the classroom to make a difference on campus and in their community. Abby was selected from over 1,700 nominations and has been honored for her activism, leadership and passion for food justice.

Abby is originally from Monroe, Wisconsin, and is a recent masters graduate from the UW School of Marine and Environmental Affairs. While studying marine affairs, she became passionate about the role that food plays in building resilient communities. Now focused on a career in food justice, Abby worked to expand food recovery on campus and led the charge as the director of the UW Food Pantry. As a Husky 100, Abby will have access to unique opportunities to expand her personal and professional networks. She, and the other Husky 100s, are highlighted on the UW website.
