Experience and Education
Sarah has a background in commercial fisheries in Alaska, Puget Sound and off the Washington Coast. She has fished on a troller, spent time on a factory trawler in the Bering Sea, and spent nine seasons purse-seining in Southeast Alaska. She has bachelor’s degree in anthropology from the University of Washington.
Current Activities
- Coordinate various marine technology workshops for commercial fishermen and recreational boaters
- Coordinate U.S. Coast Guard-required safety programs for commercial fishermen
- Work with tribal and nontribal fishermen on seafood quality and marketing efforts
- Co-sponsor Salmon Keta Cookoff event
