Experience and Education
Kate joined Washington Sea Grant in 2009. She comes to Sea Grant from the Coastal Observation and Seabird Survey Team (COASST), a citizen science program based in the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences at the University of Washington, where she was the Program Coordinator for five years. Kate has Bachelor of Arts degrees in Biology and Environmental Policy from Colby College and a Master of Marine Affairs from the University of Washington.
Current Activities
Engaging scientists, natural resource managers, citizen science groups and other interested parties in developing a working definition of citizen science and identifying criteria for the effective use of citizen science in research and management efforts.
