MaryAnn has worked in communications for non-profit education organizations for more than 15 years. She is currently the Assistant Director for Marketing and Communications for the Washington Sea Grant program at the University of Washington. Previously, she was Director of Community Relations for Classical KING FM public radio, where she developed the first communications department for the public radio station. Prior to this, she was Director of Communications for the Burke Museum on the University of Washington campus. She supervised the expansion of the Burke’s communications department, increased overall media coverage of Burke exhibitions and coordinated the 2004 and 2011 website redesigns. Other positions have included Community Relations Director for the Frye Art Museum, where she developed the public relations, membership and volunteer programs; and Public Relations Manager for the Museum of History and Industry.
MaryAnn has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism / Communications and a certificate in Technical Editing, both from the University of Washington.
